Grande Plage, at the heart of the seaside resort

Stretching for approximately 2 kilometres between the harbour and Pointe de la Garde, Grande Plage lies at the centre of Saint-Cast. Its seafront promenade provides easy access to the resort’s restaurants, terraces and shops. During summer, the beach also offers **a wide range of activities and supervised bathing areas.

The harbour and Promenade du Soleil Levant

At the end of Grande Plage, Promenade du Soleil Levant follows the shoreline towards the harbour. This pedestrian route offers a pleasant walk between the beach, the boats and open views over the bay.

The GR®34 and views over the Emerald Coast

The customs officers’ path crosses the peninsula and reveals magnificent views towards Cap Fréhel, the Bay of La Fresnaye, Fort La Latte and the surrounding islands. Between rocky headlands, heathland and small beaches, the GR®34 showcases the remarkable variety of Saint-Cast-le-Guildo’s coastline.

Château du Guildo, between heritage and estuary

Overlooking the Arguenon Estuary,Château du Guildo tells almost ten centuries of history. Built from the 11th century onwards and repeatedly altered and defended over time, this recently restored site combines medieval remains with striking views over the bay. Admission is free throughout the year.

Nearby, the small Port du Guildo has retained its traditional charm and offers a lovely view of the castle on the opposite bank.

Water sports for exploring the bay

Sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding, sand yachting and boat trips are all excellent ways to enjoy Saint-Cast-le-Guildo’s maritime surroundings. Its varied beaches and bays provide suitable settings for many activities, whether you are trying something new or sharing an experience as a family.

At low tide, the shoreline is also ideal for exploring rock pools and gathering shellfish. Always check the tide times before setting out.
